Default Convert your pellet pooper to a stick burner?

Saw this on CL. The "heavy D" by smoke daddy.

Basically holds wood sticks, or chunks close to firepot so they ignite.

Can't see the temps being very even using this.
I won't be asking Santa for one.

So much for set and forget for the first 2-3 hours:

I kinda like it. Less stupid than using an A Maze N Tube. Use actual wood and not oil flavored pellets. Calling it a "stick burner" is a bit of a stretch though.

But "stick burner" has pizzazz- "pellet grill" not so much.

Santa will bring one of these to someone I'm sure. Just a matter of wait and see- it might be just the thing to make the "not enuff smoke" crowd happy.
I started out with nothing and I got most of it left.

Also like the idea, but man do I love being able to get that PP up to temp them not having to worry about it. Kind of goes against one of the big reasons for having one of these cookers.

If ya get the right kind of pellet cooker, you don't need such tomfoolery.

I guess i am confused why you would need to watch the temperature. Isn't that what the controller is for.
