Akorn tweaks

I'm not a 100% certain but I believe I was a member of this forum several years ago Long story short a lot a life happened. Currently I have 2 big steel kegs A electric smoker for large batch production and in akorn junior and full size akorn. Both acorns are in the 6 year age range and have Reached the point well past it where they need to be replaced. Both of them if failed in this exactly the same spot. For those familiar with this grill where they have failed is the wire hanger for the ashpan where it connects to the main body of the grill. Apparently this is a weak point for corrosion I am wondering if anyone has a specific prophylactic tweak. I currently am planning on a few Coats of rattle can high temperature paint on those welds as I assemble the girls but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd like to get more than 6 years of use even though I do use them hard Out of these grills.
