Default Nice grilling weekend so far...

Howdy folks...

This weekend was a blast so far. No work - all fun, grilling and having a few cold ones.

Yesterday a friend and i visited another friend and his son who is on vacation on a nearby ( 50 miles) campground with his caravan.

He organized the drinks and we brought the food. Good deal.

Heres a Jack Daniels filled watermelon that i prepared the night before.
Mighty good eats on a hot summer evening.

After eating some healthy fruit it was about time to take care of the real food.
Fired up the 14" old Smokey and a cobb grill for some veggies.

Bell Pepper, Onion and Jalapenos seasoned with S&P and EVOO.

Couple of brats for a quick warmup

Now heres the meat. Argentinian Skirt steak, marinated with Texasbbqrub, EVOO and the juice of a lemon.

Served on tortillas with sour cream, salsas and cheese. Mighty good eats !

After dinner it was time for a special drink.

"Friesengeist" is a local specialty schnapps with almost 60 % Alcohol.
Its served burning in a shotglass and has to be extinguished right before drinking it while saying an ancient saying wich off course gets harder to say after each drink.

The Camera didnt catch the blue flames though.

I really dont remember much of the evening from that point on.

Anyway, heres the sunset

When i arrived home this afternoon i had a craving for beef, so whats better than a nice juicy burger ?

Took to 9 1/2 ounce each irish angus burgers out of the fridge and grilled them over some hickory.

Had some grilled onion, cheddar and chipotly mayo on the burger and served with potato wedges, sour cream and corn with garlic butter.

The Palm beer was of great help while eating this burger, it was one of the few times actually where i had to eat a burger with a knife and fork.

So long,

DM
