Not sure why, but today I am seeing Bear Mountain pellets on sale a couple of places. BOGO here, 40# for $20 and free shipping: https://slickdeals.net/f/14171168-b...ellets-18-99-bogo-free-shipping?src=frontpage

Going to their web site (https://bearmountainbbq.com/) I see the usual blather. What I do NOT see, though is any claim that what is in the bags matches the labels on the bags. So I wonder if they are like Traeger where some bags do not contain ANY of the label wood and most times the label wood is diluted with cheaper woods.

Does anyone know anything about these pellets?

Bear Mountain makes good pellets. IIRC, the ones on the west coast use Alder as a base wood. The remaining portion is the specified wood. The east coast ones use Oak as a base.

Thanks. That is what I wanted to know. I will not do business with vendors who lie to me.

I took advantage of their BOGO and 30% off sales, then got curious to see if there were any local dealers. Sure enough, about 20 minutes from my house is a farm supply store that stocks it regularly for $9/bag and when I went today they were $7 :clap2:

I’ve used the bold, hickory, and competition blend so far. Pretty happy with em!

I guess if you had some available to you locally at a better price, you could look at it like that...I did not look at it that way, however. Costs some money to ship a 20lb bag of pellets :thumb:
