Smashburgers for the Throwdown

I absolutely love the Blackstone. Here are some more pics from my Throwdown entry.

This was inspired from a burger I had while working on the road near DC years ago. That was “the Big Maxx Burger” which was a half pound patty on Texas Toast topped with fried macaroni and cheese. Since then I have never served a burger on a bun again. I may or may not have went back the next day for another one.

This burger is a double smashburger with cheese and pulled pork from the 4th.

Provolone?

Yep. No reason other than I don’t do a lot of cheddar and there was one slice of Colby jack left that went on my wife’s burger. Generally I stick to Colby jack provolone or pepper jack.

The bbq sauce has a little kick so I went provolone instead of pepper jack.
