Default R Depot

Hey All,

Not sure if this is the correct place so apologies in advance. I read up on getting a membership to Resaurant Depot but, I qualify for none of the conditions. I know KCBS included a membership but, now it is only a day pass. I am really interested in their beef ribs and deep fired cheese curds of course all of their other bbq meats +. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

the day pass will get you in as many days as you'd like so it's will worth it.

the good news for you is currently all you have to do is go to the front desk and ask for a day pass. they are open to the public due to covid.

the beef ribs are good and priced right. I also like their upper choice briskets. unbelievable deal on chicken but you need to purchase 40 lbs so have a deep freezer.

I'm currently grilling a hanger steak that I picked up for a great deal, again need to buy larger portions but it's worth it

The day pass just means every time you go in, you have to go to the counter and ask for a pass for that day. You can go as often as you want. There are some things you can't buy, only liquor I think, but maybe a few others. My local RD doesn't even ask for any type of ID anymore. I just walk in, ask for a day pass for KCBS and go on my way.

This is not true. I recently got my business license to run a bakery, before that, i had been a KCBS member for 4 years. My membership ran out in March. I was waiting on the license ID at the time. So in May, i went to RD to get a few things, but when i asked for a day pass, they wanted a business account. Luckily i knew the KCBS account number for my area by heart, lol. And they gave me the pass, but my point is, without it, i would have been SOL, and this was in May.

maybe not where your at but the OP lives near me and the location in Troy MI is open to the public. I've been there in May, June and July as in just last week. my deep freezer is literally pack to the top with restaurant depot meat and I have neither a business license or kcbs membership

as an aside you seem to be very negative in many of your posts. just an observation

I went last week, and both Philadelphia and Pennsauken were open to the public. I had no problems getting a day pass for shopping.

I saw many others there in the short line just purchasing one or two meat items (briskets or butts) so maybe there were others.

Restaurant Depot, a nationwide chain of supply stores for the restaurant industry, has temporarily opened its doors to the public to help people get essential goods they need amid the coronavirus pandemic. It marks the first time in the company’s 40-year history that its products are available to the general public. The company is issuing day passes as the COVID-19 battle continues, and shoppers can return to the stores as many times as needed.

Well, all i can say is when i went in May, whoever worked the desk made everyone provide an account number. I got my official membership in june so i can't comment on anything covid related past May.

I went 1st of July and as I was scanning in my membership card, 3 people walked right in never stopping at desk. Seems checkout folks have a override button to check out non members. FYI, Angus Beef ribs were $4.49 a lb. 4 packs of 4 ribs cryovac together. I posted some pics of the ribs. Fantastic.

I'm kind of afraid to go. Afraid of what my bill will be when I check out!

From what I heard it's cash only. Treat it like the casino...just take cash and leave plastic at home

This is the worst part as there's no price on anything and instead just a price per Lb. I load up my cart thinking I've got $700 worth of meat, but often it's closer to $1k...that's my fault, but still it can be a shocker sometimes.

Not sure about your local store, but my RD takes credit. Just an FYI.

Gosh...a RD just opened a couple of miles form me. I called and was told members of the public can get a day pass. Are there really no prices on anything? So, you don't know what you're spending until you hit the register. And is it really cash only...no debit cards?

Price posted on bins or cooler shelves. A case price and a per item price so look closely. Credit cards taken at my store.
