Default At the intersection of Leftovers & Veggie Street

Needing to work my way through (or gift) leftovers. Needing to eat lots of veggies. Collision. Had some leftover straight Texas Red. Have some brisket. Went to store stocked up on colorful veggies. Chopped purple onion-red and yellow bell-celery and sautéed till translucent. Then added chopped white garlic. A dash of Gebhardts and a dash of NOTB. Added in chili and brisket. Topping was chopped heirloom tomato and avocado- seasoning was NOTB.

Tasted more like what you’d find inside a deep fried chimichanga. Was actually good. All eaten.

That’s it. No more food until tomorrow

Looks good, man.

I'm a big fan of NOTB rubs and spices.

San Miguel makes a mean fatty, and I've been known to apply it to a rack of ribs from time to time.

Looks tasty as per the usual with your MSU. Intrigued by the heirloom tomato. Resembles a Cherokee Purple. Sam's used to carry a visibly similar tomato that carried the Kumato name. Was actually a very good tasting fresh tomato unlike the hard, cardboard flavored ones that normally frequent the produce aisle. But as with all things Sam's, know that the product is always just temporary and will leave you faster than a junior high romance around valentines day.

Any idea the variety of the tomato?

Thanks,

Robert

This is similar to what the store display looked like. Different colors. All I remember seeing is Heirloom on the sign. The texture was almost like a cantaloupe- it was not sweet and also not acidic —kind of like a low sodium V8 taste.

Thanks. This food list has worked nicely for me and The Bride. You can have some sweets carbs alcohol (not a bunch but some). I’m down 60 and 6 pant sizes wearing a belt to keep 36x36 20X Wranglers up.. The bride weighs under 120 most days. She had an md appointment yesterday and was 123 in clothes.
It’s colorful inventive an occasional Frito Pie doesn’t do too much damage.

What gets me are the colors. We have eaten this way for the most part since 11-2016.
