1. Anyone with a vertical cabinet using sand in the bottom of the smoker rather than water to help regulate heat swing? If so any particular type? I've heard of people doing this.
2. Anyone besides Ironside smoker cabinets using wood splits for heat and smoke? I checked out the specs on my T&K and the metal is very similar to the Ironside smoker. I also believe sand at the bottom would help prevent the bottom from getting to hot.
3. People with an Ironside smoker how does the taste compare to an offset? I know I know chasing the dragon, but if I can spend a couple hundred on a new basket vs a couple thousand right now guess which one I'm going to do first.
