Anybody here have a burger press they love? Made gouda mushroom burgers tonight and while they held together, it was just barely. Thinking more pressure while forming the patty would help.

Plus my wife and daughter have no idea what to get me for Christmas.

Personally I don't like burgers that are that tight. No press for me.

I have used several presses when having to prep burgers for a large cook and wanted them to all be the same, not much difference in any I have tried.I still prefer a hand patted patty for personal consumption.

I find when I had patty if I let the sit after for a while they don't fall apart as easy, though I admit I have never made stuffed burgers of any kind.

Most times I will grind and patty the night before for lunch or in the morning for dinner.

I use a small-ish dessert sized plate - I turn it upside down & don't apply a whole lot of pressure - works great.

I may have misinterpreted your post. Are you making stuffed burgers,AKA Juicy Lucy’s?I only add toppings and condiments,no stuffing.

Not really stuffed, just with ingredients mixed through the burger.

I’ve been using one of these Weston burger presses for about 8 years and like it.

Get the patty paper as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MVZN26/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_awVYFb1MPXGZ5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I like it because I can adjust the thickness so I can form the patty without crushing or overworking it. I put patty paper above and below the meat when forming the patty.

I've got a silicon mold that can make six 1/3 pound burgers at a time, square shaped with little indents in them. Works well when I want burger patties for a crowd.

Apparently, my automatic press also has a press and both are very efficient and work well...PXL_20201205_044613935.jpg

I've used this for years now. Buy a 10lb chub of 85/15 from Fareway and set up the scale and make 5 oz patties (32) smoosh between 2 pcs of parchment, stack on cookie sheet in the freezer and next day stack in a couple English muffin bags and Bob's yer uncle.

Same one I have. Just need to make sure to clean it good and make sure no meat gets above the top plate and forgot about:( (rancid odor shortly thereafter)
