Tri-Tip Cost

Harris Choice runs $2.99 - $3.99 in central California .
Some of the local butchershops will have sales in the summer .
I prefer ribeye any day over tri tip .

I wish. Usually $7.99 at the Wegmans here I get it from. $20 for a good steak isn't going to stop me tho.

Just bought three at $2.98/lb at Winco. I know I can get better quality at Costco, or a local butcher, but when you trim well, cook slow & low, and sear at the end, the results are fantastic. When it gets up there around $4.98 - $7.98/lb I just won't buy it, I will spend a little more and go for a better cut. One of the best parts is that it is so forgiving. If you are not perfect on your timing, there will still be slices to please a variety of tastes. It really is an easy cook. Great for larger crowds.
