BBQ book on everything
Is there a BBQ book out there that covers just about everything from ribs to cheese to pastrami to bacon, etc. In other words is there a book that many brethren consider the Holy Grail of Bbq literature?

You will probably find there are as many Holy Grails as there are Brethren. Everybody has their favorite, go-to's, etc. I think "Paul Kirk's Championship Barbecue" would be at the top of a lot of lists. "Smoke & Spice" might be another one. There are many others that I'm sure will be brought up soon.
This site right here is the biggest and best repository of BBQ info that I am aware of btw.

To answer the question, is there one book? No. If it was just one, I'd say stick with the forum and buy a membership. Then, there are different books for different things but not one I'd recommend over and only as THE book.

^^^What he said. I have used the search function several times and have never failed to find the answer I was looking for. I'm not suggesting using the search function for every question, it can be very daunting! But, any question you can possibly think of can be answered here.

I like having a few books around when I need a new idea. Once I find something I'll do a Brethren Search and a Google Search to see if I find a variation I like better.
I have Smoke & Spice, BBQ Makes Everything Better, Dr. BBQ's BIG Time Cookbook, and 1000 Best Grilling Recipes. I usually look when I am at Sam's Club.

Maybe eventually we'll have a sub forum for just book reviews I do think, that a yearly membership in the Brethern is THE book to buy. Pay for the experience here and it's easily worth the membership. Period. But, nothing like a book and pictures on one subject. For Charcuterie, it's THE reference book for "the craft of salting, smoking and Curing". I know a few Chef's that keep and use it all the time. I'd put it in one of those books that I would buy if 1) you want to really understand the topic and 2) take your abilities to the next level. Charcuterie means "flesh cooked" in French. If you want to learn about food preservation, via curing (sausages, bacon, hams, pates, etc, etc) it will really fill in a lot of details. To quote Chapter 1, the title says it all: The Reason for this food, this book: Why we still love and need hand-preserved foods in the Age of the Refrigerator, the Frozen diner, Domino's Pizza and the 24 hour Grocery Store. If you want more details, just Im me or ask and we can discuss in a new thread. 1. Title 2. 500 Barbecue Dishes: The Only Barbecue Compendium You'll Ever Need 3.
