"Sweet, with a little back end heat".

Totally agree with "flavor profile".

"Phosphates for moisture"......is this chemistry or cooking?

"One bite"....I'm not a comp cooker and I definitely don't aim for "one bite". I want to see the platter cleared and eaten - no offence to you comp cookers.

Pretty much anything BBQ Pitmasters.......

This one ^^.
Also when they deem themselves as a Smoke "God" or "Goddess", then turn around and ask how to smoke something simple like pork butt , ribs, etc..
I get a kick out of it. lol

Another word to add to my list. "Epic"
I have never seen anything "epic" when it comes to food or cooking. lol

I think we see the difference here between the comp cookers and us unwashed masses.

The terminology is quite different. Backyard cookers aren't aiming for a "flavor profile" and phosphate injected "one bite".

They just want to cook something that tastes good to everyone who eats it.

Again - no offence to you comp cookers here.

You must have missed my post where I invented the biscuit and gravy pocket you can eat on the go.

Im a backyard cooker. I really don’t like some of the stuff that gets slung around BBQ Pitmasters. I like comp cooks and have some friends who are into comps. I would probably enjoy it if it weren’t for the cost and I’m 73 years old.

Now for my least favorite terms. To me a rub is either hot or sweet. I don’t really care about “front end heat” or “back end heat”.

Thanks for this great forum, Joe.

I've never watched BBQ Pitmasters so I don't know what terms of theirs I'm sick of hearing.

Well Kevin, I guess it's time to Netflix and chill. I see some binge watching in your future.

For me, the terms "Netflix and chill, and binge watch" needs to be banned. I know thier not ffod terms.
