Default thermometer useage

What is the proper method to avoid contamination when using a thermometer?

I'm concerning about checking the temp on pieces of chicken.

Should I wipe the thermometer with a bleach wipe between checking pieces of chicken?

I use wipes that I picked up at a rest supply. They are made for stainless steel and are food safe.

I have always used alcohol pads. Would those be fine as well?

I wouldn't have thought so but I could be wrong.
We are instructed by the HD to wipe them before and after each use.

I use these...
