Shrimp fried Rice

I wanted to get in on the Cast Iron Throwdown so I dusted off my old cast iron wok (that hasn't been used in years) and fired up some charcoal.

The ingredients are exactly what you would expect from a guy with no knowledge of Asian cuisines: Soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, rice, etc...

I stir fried the veggies shrimp,

Then added pre cooked rice and soy sauce.

This was the first time I used this wok over coals and am pretty impressed with how well in went.

Looks good to me. If you want to expand your Asian cooking, look for oyster sauce next time at the store. Deep rich umami flavor, one of my favorites. I think it could be used in other cuisines too. I need to experiment with it.
