The 2021 Texas BBQ Brethren Spring Bash Planning Thread

Bubba said you need to show up. Who's going to teach him boudin cooking stage 2?

Tickets to Little Rock booked, Bubba & I will be there. Bubba Jr. has to work, but may bring Bubba III. We'll see.

We'll have to change the name to "Bubbafest" with that many Bubbas.
Sorry to hear that you won't make it, Mike. Hope things work out for you for the next one.

So, I was thinking. Since the "hot" sausage I brought to the Fall Bash last October from the Texas Sausage Company wasn't really all that hot. Do you Texans want to taste some real HOT sausage? They're called F-Bombs from the Wurst Kitchen in the Chicago area. I brought some down to the STL Bash a few years back and they haven't had another bash since. :noidea:

And I'll try to make sure I don't leave them in Bubbas freezer this time. :-D

Heard they were so hot Andy will hand you the Malort to put the fire out with.

No Malort! I'm gonna ask the Park Rangers to do a cavity search on Andy at the gate!!

Nope, no Malort. I usually only terrorize new Bashes that I go to. But I did make a special exception for Ron last year with a mini bottle since he flew in from GA. :p

30 DAYS till the 2021 Texas BBQ Brethren Spring Bash!

Wow! Would you look at that!
Only 30 Days till we meet up at Isle du Bois for the Bash!

Speaking of Malort and TX Parks & Wildlife, over the past year and a half they got a a few new officers which seem to be running things a bit more towards the letter rather than the spirit of the law. Particularly at Isle du Bois and around the marina. I reckon it's necessary as the population around here increases and more folks are using the areas.

It's a good thing we are way over on the far side!!

Are you saying that they are enforcing the "no alcohol rule" on any state park property?

Sorry, poor phrasing on my part. My knowledge is limited to Lake Ray Roberts. I keep my fishing boat in the marina. While I haven't camped at Isle du Bois since 2018, a lot of the folks in the boat house have said that they've been cracking down on things there, particularly alcohol. It used to be they would only hassle you about it if you gave them reason to, but they are stricter these days. One guy claims they even asked him about the contents of his Yeti cup (before throwing him out) - though given that dude's nature, I'd bet the TXPWD folks were treating him in the manner he deserved.

Like Hotch said, I have to believe that if you are using a Yeti cup and not being a problem, everything will be okay. Just thought I'd mention that we all may want to observe discretion with regards to adult beverages.

I've seen enforcement on the water of all boating regs and inspections stepped up over the past couple years, too. This has been the primary lake I use for the last 21 years, and I support them doing whatever they need to keep it from becoming like Lewisville.
