Default Paint peeling on inside of my Weber Gasser?

I know it's not really paint peeling but i just wanted to get your attention.

It's that flakey carbon buid-up stuff on the hood of my gasser and I'd love to hear ideas about:

How to prevent it?

Best ways to clean it?

Good Cooking!

Best way to prevent it is to clean it regularly. To clean caked on grease like that I use oven cleaner and a sponge/scouring pad.

I use a Scotchbrite scrubber. If its real bad, a plastic scraper helps

Wow. A lot of Weber rehab posts this week. +1 on the oven cleaner. I use a razor blade to gently scrape off the carbon.

Oven cleaner? Razor blade? Scouring pad? Wait till it dries and wipe it off with a paper towel. It will drop right off like "peeling paint"

With a little more effort, you can get it down to almost as good as new. No short cuts to quality my friend.

I just knock off the loose flakes with a brass brush once in a while.

wadded up ball of foil. I only go crazy if I'm re-habbing a gasser or kettle.
