Buying Brisket ????
I'm looking to do a brisket this weekend. Normally I pick one up from GFS or Costco. Was thinking of jumping up to the PRIME at Costco. There is always the option of heading to the meat district and going to a "real" butcher. What about Restaurant Depot?...can I buy just one (full packer) there?
TY.

Costco and Sams Club have awesome briskets in my opinion.

RD has them. Not sure what their quality is.

Yes, you can buy one at RD, but you will need a membership or a day pass. Around here they typically carry choice and CAB. I've used the CAB and they are very good.

A "real" butcher will charge you a lot more than what you can get that prime for at Costco. Go get a Costco Prime - best value for the money. RD is probably not going to have prime briskets.

Just my opinion, but paying extra for "prime" brisket is a waste of money, prime rib eyes, t bones or other steaks yes, brisket no

Great timing, had the same question about RD. Doing my first brisket on my 20x42 LSG this weekend and have never had a problem with Costco's brisket. Planning to do ribs as well. It would be nice if they even are having a sale on them this week. I am debating doing the cook with water in the bottom main chamber or not. Wish me luck and will try to remember to take some Photogs. May the spirits of the stick bless all the farkers this weekend.

HEB Grocery
Thank God for Texas and HEB Grocery. Today I purchased 2 full Choice packers for $ 1.67 Lb.
One was 10pounder other was 11. A little fat to trim but no complaint.
