My new $20 UDS charcoal basket & ash pan. 17 diameter x 12 deep
Used weber charcoal grate: $0
20" Plow disk from Rural King: $16
Rebar ring & 1/4" pencil rod $4
Scrap 3/8" rod $0

I'ts about 2 3/8 at the edge and more in the middle. The plow disk is cupped. Everything I had read said you needed 2". Was I wrong?

Haven't put it on the scale yet. Picked it up with 1 finger at the hook. Looks heavier that it feels. Only have to set in in and out of the drum.
