BINGO!! That right there ^^^^^ says it all . No matter what you turn in, if there's less than 6 pieces of each item somebody's gonna get upset. And try as he might, an upset judge is NOT going to give out a bunch of 9s.

Hold on
As I recall I gave him a 9 for apperance and 88 after that. Actually entry 6 got 999 from me. Not because of what was in the box, but entry 6 would have won our table even if the other box had 6 legs and 6 thighs. If there are more items in the box we are told to sample each and average the score.

Only requirement is at least 6 pieces. There is no restriction of what part. Cornish hen is also acceptable.
Judges could be upset if they don't get a piece if you turn in a variety without 6 pieces of each Most of the highest scorers use thighs We do breast, Skin on bone in.....guess I just like swimming upstream

I've often wanted to experiment with turning in 6 individual breast meat pinwheels with the thighs but am too afraid it wouldn't get a good response...so I don't change....

QUOTE] Correct Gary, but I have heard judges beotch about not getting burnt ends or whatever they are "entitled to". We're not supposed to do that . We're only supposed to judge what is put in the box, as presented by the cook; BUT some folks either don't, or won't, get it .
