Picked up a Vintage Berkel meat slicer I found on Craigslist yesterday for $60. Needs to be cleaned, but it runs very quietly and everything is there except for the catch tray. I figure I can put something together for that from a quarter sheet pan. It's circa 1950's I think. It probably weights in at 80 pounds, so it's one of those that's built to last and not move once I figure out a spot for it.

Here are some pics!

You will love havin a slicer.

I have a old Hobart. Heavy as he$$ and a pain to clean. I love it thou.

Nice dude! You all keep finding these treasures on craigslist and I can never find anything. It must be this part of the country. Craiglist sucks around here.

Chicagokp,

Did you ever make or find a tray for your slicer? I just got a 1947 HC from Craigslist and it is missing the tray too. I was thinking of either a sheet pan like you said or routing a plastic cutting board to fit. Any advice or source for a tray would be welcome! Thanks and happy new year

Awesome find!

They sure don't make 'em like that anymore unless you spend a small fortune!

I haven't found one. I have been using a quarter sheet pan as a catch tray which works ok. I haven't done anything custom yet. That project moved to the bottom of the list.

Have pics of your find?
