you lost me at the bar S dogs. never been a big fan of hot dogs, of course here in the mitten we smother them with coney chili and raw onion anyways. when I do have em its gotta be all beef franks.

I'm sure it was a killer meal on the cheap. as a kid I hated hot dogs and bologna but the adults always forced it on me while they ate the real food.

That was a pretty regular (and well-loved) meal as a kid, except Mom made it with kielbasa and added cabbage (and, not on a grill). I made it a few times in my college years, but haven't thought about it in a really long time. Thanks for the reminder. Will be making a version of it soon.

Great looking meal! Yes, that is what they did back then, use up what they had. I just did this myself last week. Potatoes, onions, green pepper, hamburger, left over bacon ends fried up in bacon grease. It was great.
