Default My New Years Eve Snack and New Years Day Supper

Sorry... picture heavy!

I received a new steamer during deer season from two of my friends that were here for the week. They showed me how to make sticky rice so I have been trying to think of ways to serve it. I really like the rice, just need ideas. :)

I poached some shrimp in water seasoned with salt and five spice...

Served the little roses with wasabi...

I stayed home new years eve nursing a cold so this was supper. :)

For New Years Day I had company...
So I quick cured some chops, stuffed them with jalapeno cornbread, made hoppin' john and greens...

the jalapeno cornbread...

quick cured the chops for one hour...

made jalapeno cornbread stuffing with chicken stock and black pepper..

made hoppin john...

added black eyed peas, ham, chicken stock and seasonings..

into the BPS drum...

added a bit of rice to the hoppin john..

Not sure if the peas and greens really work but I feel lucky so far. :)

Thanks for looking!

Thanks!! It's good to see you!

Yes... I can't seem to shake this cold. Probably should quit cooking outside when the temp is in the teens.

I knew I was in for a treat when I opened this thread! Everything looked as scrumptious as I expected! Is the cornbread very spicy? Recipe?

Thank you MisterChrister! The cornbread isn't very spicy. You could add more jalapenos but I like it mild. :)
