Finally got a slicer...
Well... I have looked and looked and waited and waited trying to find a decent affordable Hobart slicer. I had looked at a few in my price range but they were all shot.
Yesterday I found a Berkel 823 on CL that looked brand new. I went and picked it up today. I swear it looks like it has never sliced a slice. Picked it up for $225. I am pretty stoked!!! Now I won't dread making BBB and Canadian Bacon. Plus my jerky slices will finally be uniform!!! Here is a stock photo 823E.jpg

Congrats!
Like you said, it takes the dread out of BBB, jerky, etc...........well except for the dread of cleaning the damn thing. I have an old Hobart that I love.........until cleanup.......but it does give me something to always complain about.
