Also, does that griddle in the firebox come out or is it welded into the hinge?
I never even heard of Feldon :) Y'all teach me new stuff every time I post a thread!

The griddle comes completely out and you can then use the expanded metal cooking grate below it if you want to grill a steak over direct flame in your firebox. Additionally, that cooking grate can be lowered down right above the coals for a hot sear, or the charcoal grate can be raised to right below the cooking grate for the same purpose. Very handy little details in that firebox.

I was thinking they discontinued their traditional 20" smokers and if you order a 20" now this is the only style you can get. If you want a traditional round one you have to order the 24" series. However, I may have misunderstood so I could be wrong on that.

Never heard of Venturi but I'll be googling that for sure :)

Thank you very much! I hope to get more done next weekend, but this week is going to be incredibly busy for me....which means no cooking :( But I'll be back at it as soon as I can. A few more unanswered questions from a much earlier Brethren thread that I want to get to.

I am too! That and the grass test are the two things I'm most curious about. And yes, I've actually waited to roll it out onto the grass until I get home and have time to make a video so that you can all find out with me at the same [tape-delayed] moment whether she rolls on grass. I must really like you guys ;)

Thanks, your grsss experience will help my planning. I’m really hoping that you’ll be able to maneuver yours on grass without much fuss as I know that my wife will provide very little to no help moving mine when it gets here.

Has anyone around here cooked on one of these yet? I'm am looking to buy a stick burner and I'm between this 20x42" and a 120gal, 1/4" pipe reverse flow unit with an insulated firebox. I'd appreciate any thoughts from the community.

LSG has made three review videos of their own to date, and those are very good. I've made two of my own so far and plan to make two to four more this month. I started this thread to compile all the links in one spot as I know several of you are either considering buying one, or are just curious when something new comes out :) I'll update this thread as often as I can when new videos become available, feel free to do the same.

Apologies, can't seem to edit the original post which is going to make it harder for people to see all the review videos in one spot. So here's the link to the latest video in which I test the new pit's grass capabilities with nothing but the 8" factory upgrade casters - no plywood or other aid.

The test comes on soft soil after four days of rain here. The results are definitive and somewhat humorous (I hope you think so, at least). Enjoy!

I haven't cooked on mine yet sadly, but I have two pieces of advice:

1) check out LSG's owner cooking on it in his review videos. I posted those links in a separate thread that is still near the top of the threads on the front page right now.

2) Take a moment to call Chris, the owner of LSG, and let him explain his thoughts on reverse flow smokers.

Ya' know, if you guys keep asking for that I might have to cave and do it. You're not the first to request it. The ones I've watched haven't seemed all that helpful to me but I'll consider it!
