Default Stainless Steel Shakers

Not sure if this is the right thread or not. Last year we bought some 8oz stainless shakers to put our rub in for competitions. It worked great because the clean up was easy and there was no worrying about labels peeling off or lids not getting shut, etc. I want to find larger stainless shakers but haven't had much luck online. Anyone got a good site?

Thanks.

I have the shakers you are looking for. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate them anywhere on-line. I found mine at my local restaurant supply store. They were pretty dusty. Doesn't look like there is much demand for those type.

Good luck.

A 16 oz economy steel dredge. The word dredge popped up when I started searching and that's the ticket. Even Amazon.com has 10oz stainless steel dredges.

or with a handle

http://www.foodservicewarehouse.com/...571/p6081.aspx on sale for $5.89 ???? wow, seems a bargain.

Or you could use a 12oz cheese or red pepper flake shaker and the plastic or glass lets you see the amount left
http://www.kitchensupplydirect.com/cheese-shakers.html

$1.85 in plastic.

$1.64 in glass.

I've got one with the handle but the holes were too small for some of the home made rubs. I got my drill out and drilled out every other whole on the darn thing. Was cross eyed for two days!!

I've tried those, but I found that using the left over spice shakers from GFS work pretty dang well, and I've got tons of them since I can prep the run, then close the lid. Just a thought.

Sorry, I forgot to get back to this page. But this is what I use. My restaurant supply store had interchangeable lids, so depending on the rub, I used the lid with small or large holes.

Wrap a glove around it at the start of prep and the thing will stay very clean at cleanup time. Scott

I got some at the local supply store that have 3 different size holes at the top with a spnner covering all but one size of holes. I usually use the medium setting. I think they are about 10 oz.
