My first tri-tip
Slow n sear, cooked to medium/medium rare. I may try it like brisket next time but this was awesome. Not much tri tip around me. Ordered this from Wild Fork Foods. Not a bad price, seems like a decent place for regular online meat.

How was the meat? I've gotten quite a bit of stuff from Wild Fork but never a tri tip.

It was great. It was graded prime. I couldn't tell you if it was better than other tri-tip prime. But what I loved about it was the flavor. It was certainly tender enough and had great flavor. I'd buy this again for sure.

OK, I’ll grab the third rail. It does look perfectly cooked, great job. I see many “first tri tip” posts that show it sliced fairly thick. Try thinner slices, that is more authentic and it helps with the chew.
Your mileage may vary but some of the best tri-tip I have ever had was cut on a slicer. |
