I am with Mike, if at Sams and or Costco I just pick what looks best. I have REALLY been liking the angus ones at Sams lately. Doing one for Sunday as a matter of fact

Costco Prime is such a great deal, but in my town, the majority of their briskets are in the 15-20lb range, and I find these do not cook well on my smoker. So every time I'm in Costco, I cruise the prime beef counter, and if I can find a smaller briskets I'll nab 'em and fire up the Battle Box. Otherwise I'll go with CAB choice 10-11lb roasts from Smart Foodservices (Cash and Carry). Like someone said earlier, the Q gods can be finicky, and I've had some excellent choice briskets and not-so-good prime briskets along the way.
