when you look at it, look closely at the leg sockets. They can get weak where they are welded to the base after years of use.

If it was me, that kettle is just an excellent kettle at a good price but the OP kettle has a great deal of historic interest

If I traded something for it I would not have any out of pocket cost. But that new one does look good.

I can't believe he hasn't gotten rid of that thing yet. I emailed him about that a month or 2 ago. Not a terrible price, but I wasn't going to drive 90 minutes to get it.
