Default Outdoor Cooking Area Build

I’ll try to update this as things progress...

Back in December (right before Christmas) we closed on our new home in NE Ohio.

With 5 acres, there is plenty of room to play, but there is also a list of projects longer than my arm.

One of those projects is to build out my outside cooking area.

This is how it started

Area to the right of house and over to the detached garage is where the bbq area is going

Fence company came and put the privacy fence up two weeks ago.

This created the area I will transform into my cooking HQ.

This area is ~17’ x 40’

Today i put in the landscaping timbers that will allow me to get it to grade along with the weed block.

Thursday 8 tons of crushed limestone arrives.

On top of the limestone (left side by garage), I will build a 16x16 bbq shelter (open sides, slanted top) sitting on deck blocks.

There will also be a embedded 40” galvanized steel fire pit so I can utilize my 48” rotisserie and my Schwenker. On the other side of the fire pit I plan to construct a block pit (Carolina pit) for cooking hogs.

Stay tuned!

Those sound like some great ideas for your Cooking HQ. I am really looking forward to seeing the progress and the ideas that pop up along the way.

I really like the hog pit idea and the covered area will be large enough to really outfit!
Keep sending the pics!
