hibachi pot help
I found this hibachi pot at a local second hand store. I paid $120 for it. I'm trying to find out some information on it, but haven't had any luck. Even Google doesn't have a lot of info. I was told it is a collectors item and should just sell it on eBay or craigslist. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. sorry for the bad image quality, I was in a hurry and didn't check them.

Do you have the cast iron top vent or the ceramic cap for the dome?
Take a look at the Naked Whiz site here: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/infocentral.htm Bottom of the page is some info on some of the vintage Kamados. The 1976 Pre-BGE manual from Pachinko Palace has the size charts on page 8. Yours looks to be a 9" grate making it a #1 size. Where in Washington state did you find this? They were sold in the Seattle/Bellevue area at Pachinko Palace, Uwajimaya and Pirates Plunder among others. I had a co-worker stationed at McChord AFB in the mid 70's that said he brought back chitloads of them on transport flights, had a neighbor that brought one back from Japan in the late 60's after a tour of duty in Viet Nam and had a few myself that I restored that had been brought back by returning military. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...8462391&type=3

Thanks for all the info. No I don't have a cap for it. I found it in eastern Washington.

That thing is almost too pretty to cook in. I am thinking of retiring mine to someone that can appreciate them before I ruin it with a high heat cook.
