Default TMG Charcoal Chute Review

this thing is a beast and very heavy duty with a life time warranty and was tired of buying the cheap ones that last for a year . Glad I finally found a good one that is well built and might buy a pit from them too .

Looks solid- bet it will get the job done.

You only get a year on a "regular" chimney? You must use the dog out of yours.

I have the big Weber chimney- it's great for my kettle but I find it too large to start 16-18 coals for my uds so I made a "shorty" out of a #10 bean can. Had it for about 4 years-still kicking- use it 1 or 2 times a week. My dad made fun of me and sent me a nice, (the smaller one) Weber starter - but I still mostly reach for the bean can

Let us know how you like it.

Yep, I am sure it is pretty (expensive) and all that, but like said above, save your money and use a #10 can with a few holes drilled in it on your gasser side burner for free.

Looks solid. The last 2-3 years I’ve really upped my smoking and grilling and my trusty Weber is starting to rust out. There seems to be an uptick in interest in these heavy duty starters, Chuds also fabricates one.

It's $100! I got a Weber on clearance at Target for less then $11, I will have to pass.

Looks nice, but my chimney works fine five years in.

That’s a nice starter bucket! I can appreciate the quality of a product that exceeds the norm. I just bought a bolt action pen made out of Titanium on CNC tooling. The freebies I pick up at the bank do the same job. Same reason some folks are cooking on high dollar pits and some using discarded drums. Quality and value are are subject to the market place, to each his own!

Looks like a solid value for those who cook regularly.

Looks like a solid value fer those who appreciate the nicer things. There's nothing wrong with that.
I know people who reside in a single wide...$80,000 truck parked in front. Each ta their own, it's the American way.
Looks good.

The craftsmanship looks good. Probably a buy it for life product. That said, how do you go through 1 chimney a year? I've had a Weber compact chimney for 4 years now. Its still going strong even after regular use throughout the year & leaving it out in the rain a few too many times

The advantage I see over the Weber chimney is that the handle won't melt if, say, you happen to get a grease fire in your WSM while you're lighting your charcoal on it to use in the kettle next to it, and your back is to the WSM while you're farting around with the kettle, and then suddenly you realize your back is feeling nice and warm, but it's a cold January day in New England, and when you turn around, the flames are 3 ft high.

Looks well built for sure. I own 4 Weber chimneys, the oldest being 10 years and they all are in great shape.. I keep mine out of the elements though.

My weber chimneys are failing after a few years also. I’d buy one of these or chud’s

IF I decided I wanted a "bullet proof/made for the ages/hand it down to my kids" chimney- I'd get the Chud one too. I like the way he rolls.
