The 2023 Texas BBQ Brethren Spring Bash Planning Post

Most of you know me, I like to start planning the Bash early!
As both the Pavilion and RV camping reservations go pretty quick at Isle du Bois.

As of today, I'm thinking we have it in April 2023.

Once we have a couple of hard dates, I will call TPWD to reserve Pavilion 2 and pay them the $$$.
It may change due to reservation availability.

Post the date as soon as you decide on one. I will try to plan for it! I love my trips to Texas.

I’m gonna try to do things different next year, do a trip in the winter, then be home for March/April then leave in May. I would love to go to a bash.

That's Great news!!
November 1st I should be able to make the reservation for April dates. Then December 1st for May dates.

I first need to see when the HS BBQ Championship will be as Shelly and will be there in support of SuckleBusters Rubs and sauces and my Prosper Pitmasters!!

TPWD has not yet opened reservations for April 2023. I’ll keep checking!

Where about in the park is the pavilion located?
Looking at the campground loops, Deer Run looks promising, but I'd like to make sure we're close by.
Currently planning on getting in on Thursday, and pulling out Monday.
I figure that way, we'll be relaxed Friday night for any early Bashing, have a leisure Sunday and then be ready to pull out Monday.
Thinking of heading south, to Austin and Corpus Christi.
From there, Louisiana and then Arkansas before heading home.
2 to 3 weeks, total.

For those who want to make reservations to camp or for an RV spot, the reservation system will be open on the "November day" you want.

So, if you want to stay from April 18 - April 24, you can go online or call TPWD on November 18 to book your reservation.

I recommend you do so ASAP as the spots will not last long.
