Default MOFO Brisket Chilli

I am making a chilli this weekend for a small chilli comp. I am thinking of making MOFO brisket chilli from the recipe section.

1. Any reviews of this chilli recipe? From what I have read, it seems to be pretty good.

2. If you make this recipe, what do you guys and gals use as a substitute for V8 Picante since they don't make it anymore? Regular V8?

Thanks
