In my experience, I have marinated and grilled them a few times until they were done (just guessing 30 to 45 minutes). Sorry if that doesnt help a lot!! I would treat them like a cross between burnt ends and pork steak, and smoke a couple of hours low heat, then put in a pan with some extra rub and sauce, then cook for an hour or two longer. You might want them put back on the grate to set up the sauce?
