Default High quality $300 electric smoker

My electric smoker was broken since last year. It was quite hard not to be able to eat tender and delicious smoked beef or sausages during family gathering. I want to buy more sophisticated electric smoker with some grilling racks. I prefer the material is made from stainless steel and it can also hold jumbo portion of beef, sausages, turkey altogether for my big family.

I have already saved the budget to buy the high quality smoker. My budget is about $300. Sorry it takes too long to explain. Any recommended smoker to buy?

grilling racks, wow. In my opinion you are going to have to leave electricity behind at that budget

Look on Craigslist for a used Cookshack Smokette. Built like tanks in the USA and last forever.

I saw just the other day at sams club that they have the 40" master built Bluetooth electric smoker for $50 off. Think it was $270 or $280.

Not sure if you have a membership or not though.

I had an MES30 and then a 40... they were my first two smokers. The second generation of the 40 (they're probably on the 4th now?) was leaps and bounds better than the first. The design was much more functional. They angled the drip tray so that the drippings would slide right into the water pan, made the chip loader a lot more robust, etc.

Unfortunately, they still used chincy wiring at the element and I had a terminal melt and had to rewire on the 40. The 30's heating element gave up and I had to replace it. At least with the 40, they made it accessible without drilling out 40+ rivets.

The thing I LOVED about the electrics was the "set it and forget it" aspect. It was awesome to not constantly have to check on the temp... although both of the Masterbuilts I had would swing in temp 20-30 degrees pretty easily. With the newer generations, you can set a timer for the cook so you don't have to be around to remove the meat immediately and you can let it rest. I used that feature a few times when we were out on the boat.

All that said, the FIRST time I smoked on lump charcoal with my kamado, the MES40 went up on CL. I'm out of Shawshank now... and I aint going back.

Saw a nice unit at a sportsman's show, right around 300+ $

all SS, 4 trays, insulated, and thermostat regulated. Nice smoke tray, pretty much bullet proof. Fellow claims they're used in restaurants. Can't remember the name now, but might be found under commercial electric smoker.
