For the next Throwdown I propose a MOINK Ball Challenge. MOINK is an acronym for Moo and Oink. MOINK balls are beef meatballs which are wrapped in bacon then grilled or smoked, and served glazed or dipped in sauce. Your meatballs can be home-made or store-bought like the original MOINK balls.

So chicken meatballs wrapped in turkey bacon are out? :brick:

For some laughs, do a search for MOINK (in all caps) because in 2008 & 2009 many of the Brethren were in full MOINK mode. They were not as popular as fatties, but right up there. I took them to many Football Sunday's at my local watering hole. And of course, I did get certified....

Ah...one of the certificates by Ginger. Highly collectible! :thumb:

That's a great photo, Bill, I remember that one!

Thanks for posting that Link. I haven't seen Noskos here in ages, and he swung through Chicago one year on a tour of Midwest BBQ Places. Couple of us met up with him, unfortunately pics lost in forum migration:

Does anyone know if the official Moinkball Certificates will start to be reissued again?

I don't know about the certificates as the last date I'm aware of for certification was December 31, 2008. This was signed off on by Ron L in his capacity of IMBAS President on that date. The IMBAS had some very strict parameters before they pronounced an individual a Certified MOINK Baller and the IMBAS rules do not apply for this Throwdown Challenge.

It will be hard to keep a straight face, but give this MOINK THREAD a read. It contains as much information as possible that can be divulged publicly, and does not contain any mention of the secret oaths and various handshakes specific to the brotherhood of the MOINK Ballers.

Here is my "Moinkball Challenge!" entry photo. The MOINK's have a bacon jam glaze. Best of luck to all the old and new MOINK Ballers alike. The direct link to my cook's thread in Q-Talk is HERE.
