Default Interesting Father's Day Cook so fsr

Started off at 330 am with brisket on, all is good, trucking along, made some pancakes on the griddle, all is good..... Then I notice the big temp drop on a temp check, I see 140 on the dial and poof, up in smoke before I could tear it apart. I think it's back under control since I was on top of it, but Traeger is gonna get a fun call from me Monday. 3 of the last 4 cooks at 225 have now gone up in smoke like this. Flame dies, pot fills then flame comes back and poof. Hopefully new igniter rod will do it, maybe a whole new controller?

Yeah been down this road before. I snagged the brisket then was removing the grates when I saw the first puff of white smoke. Got the rest off then was trying to clear the pot of pellets through the white smoke when it popped and burst into flame.

All good now though back running about 230 with the brisket on and me watching it like mad.

I hate it when that happens. Happened to me the last smoke because of a power blip. Good thing you were home!

Brisket turned out great. One of my better ever. Also broke in my Father's day grill grates.

Pancakes look amazingly good, sorry to hear about the Traeger mishap thankfully the brisket survived as it looks delicious. Congrats on the new Grill Grates.

I talked to Traeger today. They think the controller has the auger stuck on high. Should have a new one here this week and they're upgrading it one level since my current one is out of stock.
