Hey guys, I started building a UDS and shortly thereafter stumbled on this forum...gave me a lot of great ideas which I tried to incorproate into my design. Charcoal basket is made from the charcoal grate of a 22.5" weber with 3/4" expanded metal welded to the rim, also found a salvage steel pan and welded a lip around the outside with a 1/2" pipe in the middle as my ash pan. Not getting quite the seal I want at the lid and am running with cheap gauges at the moment, but improvements will come in the following months. All in all, very happy with the build and thanks to the knowledge of everyone on this forum, it turned out much better than my original design

I love using mine as it is my "go-to" for most cooks these days. You will indeed love yours.

Thanks guys, first cook went great! Few minor things I'm gonna change but I did a cheap pork shoulder as the test subject, had it on about 6-7 hours, it was hands down the best pulled pork I've had! Looking forward to many years of service out of it

Looks a lot my first one, i loved it. Used it for years, then my son destroyed it. Then i built a new one and now i love it. Rib cooking machines!
