OK this will seem silly. And yes, I'm rather anal about some things. But my favorite rubber spatula is stained orange from tomato sauce and no amount of scrubbing with dish soap has removed it. Is there something I can soak it in that'll clean it?

It's a sentimental thing... I've had it for 35 years. It gets used often and I don't want my next pumpkin pie tasting of tomatoes.

We have several stained spatulas that just get washed with everything else. Just checked, none have any flavor or odor, and my wife thinks I'm weird. Or confirmed it.

Soak overnight in vinegar water

On principle, with a little Junior High chemistry, I'd try a baking soda solution, but I have no experience on which to base that.
