"I drove 30 miles to Jefferson, GA to save $35 on delivery fees. I don’t have tags for my trailer yet so I took the wife’s mini-van. Then somehow I was talked into taking EVERYONE on the two hour trip, substantially cutting down my cargo room."

They had laps, didn't they? And room under their feet? Plenty of room, since they volunteered to come.
Plus, looking at that picture, you still had room for more in the back, if you had stacked neater.

He had an entire roof too and a few sticks could surely fit in the engine compartment.

Adams bring your chainsaw and lots of cold Shiner to my ranch and you can cut up all the oak downed by storms you want.

Its a good thing i prefer a very light smoke. My taste buds like 1/16 cup of Oak pellets every 15 min. Or Cherry. For salmon, Alder.

I think all that is left of his cookers are the Davy Crockett and the George Foreman.

The entrepreneurial spirit in me has contemplated the above many times in many ways. I have wondered what a rail car load would cost to ship versus a truck load. I usually run these thoughts through my head on long solo road trips when I just can't listen to the radio play "Love will Keep Us Together" one more time. Other thoughts would be how to ship, raw in a hopper car, or palletized with shrink wrap? Who would I sell it to? How much to mark up after costs? etc, etc. Here where I live, most wood is sold by the rick, which is 1/3 of a cord. It works out to a about a pick-up truck load or 4 feet tall by 8 feet long and 16-18" wide stack. Cost runs between $60-$80. So, not a lot of money to be made. Usually by then, it's time to get off the road for a bio break and then to try to find another radio station that at least is playing "Radar Love".
