Wanted to give a public Thanks to sleebus.jones for his post about a cinder block reverse flow pit. My brother is a summer camp director and I spent the last week hanging out there. We constructed that pit with campers, letting them be a part of the process every step, including cutting rebar with a saws-all.

Culminating activity of the class was doing a cook. Put on 2 shoulders and 4 racks of spares. Then, they learned the valuable lesson of applying patience to a process. We stayed with the cooker until dinner (ribs) and then came back to finish up the butts (lunch). Glad to be able to share this obsession with young people.

I bet that was a very memorable experience for the campers. Very cool of you to do that with them

That's a great story.

Good for you, your brother, the kids, sleebus and the brethren.

Well done!
