The challengers...Dr. BBQ's "Big Time BBQ Rub" ...VS...The Jamison's "Southern Succor Rub"...

Alakazam!!! Let the battle begin...

We start with a level playing field...all butts prepped with a mustard slather and equal parts rub...

Stay tuned folks...in our next episode Pitmaster "JD" fires up a shiny new 22.5 WSM for it's maiden smoke...

Which rub will emerge victorious...???

The final rub up and firing of the virgin pit...

Southern Succor on the left...Dr BBQ on the right...

Southern Succor...

Checkin' the pit thermo...dead on...

ET-73 pit probe...

ET-73 meat probe...

Fire in the hole...gonna run these a little hotter than my usual 225-250...I'm shootin' for 275-300...

Meats on...Southern Succor butts on the bottom grate...Dr BBQ on top...

That's me...:roll:

It's a normal day in the PNW...so I set up the canopy to keep the butts (and me) dry...

In our next episode we'll be spritzing with apple juice...how exciting is that! :twisted: Stay tuned folks...the battle for supreme butt rub has only just begun...
