Harris Teeter has boneless beef short ribs on sale for $2.99 (reg $9.99). They are boneless. I have had these in restaurants braised and seared, but I have never seen them smoked.

I bought a 5 lb pack (2 slabs). I was thinking of smoking them for 2-3 hours and them wrapping them in pink paper for 2-3 more.

Anyone have experience wit them? Are they Q-able?

I used your Barbacoa braising ingredients on a Boston Butt that I cut into two pieces, smoked until the internal temp was about 175-180, then I braised covered for a couple more hours. Turned out great, thanks for sharing.

Yes you can smoke them! I used to smoke some beef spare ribs for my ribs BBQ and really liked them. Never smoked them without the bone, but I think it would be just as good!

That being said, I really like braised short ribs with garlic mash as a winter meal.
It’s also really good simmered in red sauce with pasta. (Pork spare ribs are too!)
