Where about's.?
Think there is a place in Jackson that got high reviews in last year's M-live review of bbq restaurants, just don't remember the name.

No, It doesn't have to be in GR. I live in Holland anyways. West side of Michigan would be best.

It's a bit of a trek from Holland, but Wheatberry in Buchanan is good. While not a strictly BBQ place, most of their menu is BBQ and it's pretty solid. What's even more impressive is the beer selection. If you're a craft brew fan, you can probably find a ton of beers that you usually can't find locally.

Went there for our anniversary last year. Place is always packed and we had to make reservations.

Here's their site: http://wheatberrytavern.com/

I'm in Kalamazoo and i can't say there is anything worth mentioning here. there was once an older guy from Texas had a spot and man he made the best brisket i've ever had. The market didn't support him so he went under and it was a real tragedy to me i use to promote the place like i worked for it just so i would have the option lol.

Glad to see others from the area here. I'll be making a stop by Niles marubozo keep me updated when ya open!

I'm subscribed to this thread any news of a good place in our area and i'm making a visit!

I hear Hogzilla in Battle Creek (889 W. Colombia Ave), FooJays in Kalamazoo (1200 W. Patterson), and Hog Wild BBQ in Holland are pretty good. Also, West Texas BBQ in Jackson was rated the best BBQ in Michigan in 1012 by MLive. If you want a rreal treat and don't mind driving top Royal Oak, Lockharts is the best around, and Pitmaster BBQ Bubba (a member here) makes the best brisket north of Dallas...

When I lived in K'zoo we went to a little joint downtown that was excellent, but unfortunately closed in 2008. It was the only place in town we liked, so that's when I bought my Char Griller and learned to cook my own.
