Default Early Weber Genesis Frames

Hi! Newbie here. I recently picked up a 3-burner Weber Genesis 1 LP (not knowing just what it was at the time). It had at one time a wooden left side worktop--its all gone, including the "z" frames. It still has an intact (perfect) left side fold-up. The pit and green top are in excellent condition. The frame was wobbly and I assumed it simply needed some tightening. But as I discovered (and you already know) it's a bit more complicated than that. The funny thing is that the frame shows almost no rust, but multiple tabs are broken. Weird. Anyway, I noticed a few threads here on the older Webers. I have already seen online various the ways of repairing/strengthening that frame. I could also take it to a retired welder. But first, it would seem most efficient to try to acquire a good frame before pursuing other options. My question is whether a list of models with compatible frames exists somewhere. I gather that the Genesis 1-5 are all compatible, and perhaps 1000-5000, or something like that. Is the two-burner frame the same as the three-burner? Maybe I could snag a cheapo from craigslist, but it's got to be the right cheapo. Thanks, m

Finding a donor grill on CL is probably the least expensive way to do it, but you may want to look at grillparts.com as well. they have a lot of Weber parts.
