Pitmaster IQ 110 WSM install tips?
My pitmaster arrived today. before I do an install I'd like to get everybody's input that actually uses this with their WSM. there's not many videos on YouTube giving very specific details on the install. Do you really have to shut the top vent practically down the bottom two vents all the way off? I like do the old minion method of just adding 10 lit briquettes and then letting it slowly come up to Temp. The one video by pitmaster the guy dumps a whole chimney full a briquettes. I don't see how he can come up to temp without overshooting his temperature by doing that. Any tips on install and using that iq110 is greatly appreciated.

When I had a WSM and the PM110, I liked to keep all vents open without the PM110 running until I came up to my desired temp. Close the other 2 bottom vents and leave the top vent completely open, worked for me.

I use a pitmaster on a uds. I keep all the intake valves closed. I keep my exhaust at about half open. Thats the way it works. When I use it on my bullet smoker I also close all the intake and the exhaust is nearly closed. I also used the silver heat tape to close off the charcoal door. Works great you will enjoy it. If its windy and you worry about that with your pitmaster just put a plant pot over it.

Just like Kevin J said. I get the WSM about 20-30 before desired temp with all vents open then I turn on IQ and close bottom vents and leave to open full to 3/4

Plus 1 on top vent full open to 3/4 open. I never had a problem doing it this way.
