Good BBQ in Dallas area
Happy Phriday Pharkers. I just recently accepted a new IT position and will be traveling to the Dallas the week of the 24th for training. Does anybody have any recommended BBQ spots I can checkout hole in the wall or otherwise within a 45min drive of the Dallas area.

Pecan Lodge is really good. I'm sure there are others but it's been a while since I've been to the concrete jungle.

Where are you going to be? Lots of choices depending where in DFW. Hutchins can't be beat IMO (original location is in McKinney and they also have a place in Frisco).

Pecan Lodge downtown has some of the best Brisket in town. Bring friends, order five pounds or more of meat and you get to skip the main line to go to the catering counter inside. This can save you an hour wait in line at times.
Slow Bone is on the near North side of downtown and I-35. Great dry rub Texas ribs smoked on an all wood burning Oyler. Good Brisket and sausage as well, and they make most of their sides, pickles, etc. in house. Looking for a little upscale BBQ? Try SMOKE in Oak Cliff (Near Downtown) for the traditional Brisket and Ribs along with Hog Jowl Bacon, Rabbit Sausage, and other interesting bites. Cattleack BBQ in Carrolton (20 minutes north of downtown) is some of the best in the state, but only open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm or sold out. He keeps a super cool 500 Gallon Austin Smoke Works cooker out front, it's a thing of beauty! Further north of Dallas you have 407 BBQ and Bumbershoot BBQ just south of Denton close to I-35W and FM 407. Bumbershoot also uses an Oyler Smoker and sells out of an old Airstream trailer. They use green apple slices in their Cole Slaw and smoke their potatoes for the potato salad, so the sides are just as good and interesting as the meat. Great dry rub ribs here as well.

Here's another vote for Lockhart... and be sure to hit up the Bishop Cidery (like 2 doors down) while you're there. Awesome hard cider from good folks in the business.
Pints & Quarts is a good spot if you're in the mood for a good burger/dawg + beer. The Banh Mi Dawg is off the charts good. Safe travels, and enjoy!

North of Ft. Worth in Argyle. 407BBQ I35W & FM407. Hard Eight in Coppell is pretty good. North Main BBQ is a little all you can eat hole in the wall in Euless. Only open on weekends. SW of DFW, always stopped there on the way out of town after training on Friday afternoons.

You are only a couple of miles from Cattleack BBQ, but as mentioned they have limited hours.
Thursdays 10:30am – 2pm Fridays 10:30am – 2pm 1st Saturdays 10:30 am – 2pm Hard 8 in Coppell is pretty close and has more normal restaurant hours.
