Question Brisket with Coke soak?

I am doing a Packer tonight. I rubbed it down last night. Question, can I pour a couple cans of Coke over it now and let it sit for the rest of the day? Or should I have not rubbed it 1st?

I thought that too. Just wondering if I did the Coke thing for 4-6 hours then re-rub after for another few hours before going on the EGG. Maybe I should let well enough alone.
