Default Akorn Temp Fix

I had some issues with my Partyq setup on my Akorn. It seems that there was a draw through the fan port when it was not running allowing the temp to over shoot. I had already sealed the ash pan and made sure there was nowhere else it could be drawing from. I decided to try a cheap $35 Tip Top Temp from Amazon and put it in place of the original top exhaust pin wheel vent. This appears to have fixed the temp control issue I had, it held 235 degrees for about 5 hours without touching anything, after I got it to temp. Very pleased with this product, hope it helps someone else that may be frustrated with temp swings on this cooker when using it to cook low and slow.

Happy to see that you solved the issue, Tommy. Now, let's see some pics of that cook.
