Just ordered my Assassin 36-inch charcoal grill. Can't wait to get it!! In case you don't remember, it is a single chamber grill/smoker with the fire at the bottom, a V-shaped heat shield, two levels of grill grates, and short smoke stack on the top right of the lid.
While preparing my order, it occurred to me to wonder why it doesn't have a more typical L-shaped smoke stack coming out the side. The main pro in my mind is that it would hold smoke in longer, and would even out convective flow. A concern is that the top rack would get hotter and make it less useful as a distinct cooler zone.
The good folks at Assassin will do this for me, if I want.
I'm curious what anyone's thoughts are, especially if you've used the grill?
